We have established this Foundation in memory of Michael to try and make a difference on his behalf. We lost Michael on September the 11th, 2001. I knew his life touched so many people when, at his memorial service, I looked out across the sanctuary at the congregation just before we started and there was no standing room left at all.

Michael meant so much to so many people. I’d like to tell you a little about him. Michael and his brother Jeff were raised by their mother. Michael, after causing a bit of trouble in his high school days, quickly turned his act around and enrolled at Union County College. After receiving very strong marks he transferred to Rutgers University at New Brunswick. After graduating in 1997, he quickly became a very successful trader and in 2001 was about to be made a partner at Cantor Fitzgerald, one of their youngest. Michael worked on the 104th floor of the World Trade Center, North Tower.

Michael was a son, a brother, a grandson, and a friend. Michael was one of those few people that when you were with him, you instantly felt something good. At only 27, he had a remarkable way of understanding life. Mike was everything that was good and right in the world. He knew how to love and be loved. He knew how to smile and laugh and make others smile and laugh. He cared not only about himself but others around him. He symbolized family and epitomized what a friend should be.

Michael lived each day to its fullest. He worked hard and played hard. This foundation was established to memorialize his attitude for life. We will work very hard to establish a perpetual scholarship for those students in need who were raised by a single parent (as Michael was) and to rebuild/refurbish outdoor recreational facilities for children to play.

We hope that you will help us keep the memory of Michael alive and look forward to your support. Thank you from the entire Board of Directors.
